I Like This Phil Hughes
It wasn't enough to trick me into falling back in man crush love with the guy, but that was a fantastic job on the bump by Phil Hughes today. He was confident, aggressive, and totally in command out there. He used his fastball, curveball, and changeup brilliantly to keep the Detroit lineup guessing, never wavered from his approach, and actually got stronger as the game went on. Round of applause for you, Phillip.
Can we get some more of these performances and fewer of the batting practice stinkers from Anaheim, please? That'd be awesome.
Belated Site News: Slow Weekend
I thought I was going to be able to work my usual weekend work rate in this weekend. I really did. Obviously that didn't happen. Apologies for the missed game recaps and other stuff, but there was just too much going on this weekend and way too many drinks consumed, and I had way too good a time to drag my sorry ass in front of the computer the next mornings
Things will start getting back to normal tomorrow. Game recap will be done, and I still owe everybody the MiL Report for Triple-A and Double-A. So check back tomorrow for that stuff and we'll get back into the usual routine.
