One Down...

Well it wasn't the massacre I and most other Yankee fans were hoping for, but in the end the Yankees did what they did all series: waited, waited, waited, and then pounced when the opportunity presented itself.  Andy was on, and the bullpen was stout again, showing Minnesota how to hold a lead.

Check back tomorrow morning for a full Game 3/Series recap...

A Message To Carl Pavano

Hey Carl,

How's it going?  Good to see you on the mound again, us Yankee fans had almost forgotten what that looked like.  But it must be nice to find yourself back pitching in the postseason.  Good for you.

Now I know you were technically a Yankee for 4 years so you know the kinds of struggles and glaring team flaws they've had over that time period.  But if you think this year's team has those same issues and you're just going to cruise into the Metrodome tonight, say your hellos to your old teammates and then dominate them for 7 or 8 innings, you're sadly mistaken.  And if you think the guys on this team have forgotten about how bad you fucked them and the organization for the 4 years that you were here, robbing the team of much-needed pitching depth and robbing Mr. Steinbrenner of his $39.95 million, you're even more sadly mistaken.

These are not the Yankees you used to know and used to be a part of.  What they did to Joe Nathan on Friday night was just a preview of what they're planning on doing to you tonight.  Listen and understand, Carl.  They can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity or remorse or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

Good luck tonight, chief.
