162 Down, 11 To Go

The bad news is that the Yankees stumbled across the finish line of the regular season with 2 straight losses to their most hated rivals.  But that's to be expected when they're rolling out A.J. and Dustin Moseley with big games on the line.

The worse news is that, in the process of choking the last 2 games away, the Yankees blew their control of their own destiny, blew a slim division lead they had built heading into this past weekend, blew the division championship, and lost homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

The good news is that the Yankees are still going to be playing baseball in October.  Any way you look at it, they are one of the best teams in baseball and have to be considered one of the favorites for the World Series.

The better news is that they have CC Sabathia, Andy Pettitte, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Alex Rodriguez, and the rest of the deepest lineup in baseball.  They've got a bullpen full of power arms anchored by the greatest closer in the history of baseball, Mariano Rivera.  And they've got a rabid fanbase full of the most dedciated, supportive fans behind them and almost 100 years of tradition and history on their side.

It's gonna be exciting and it's gonna be fun.  It's just too bad we have to wait to Wednesday to get it started.
